These early American toys and others are being lost to history. But this Artisan made example will become a family heirloom. Sassafras squares form straight and curved paths to arrange in many different ways from basic letter shapes to complex designs. No batteries or screens here.

Helps with hand/eye coordination as well as patience and attention skills. Praised by eductors, this educational toy also teaches spatial relationships and elemental engineering design concepts.

Marbles and instructions included. Walnut frame.

Great for kids birthdays, holiday gifts or gifts for no reason.

Not recommended for children under 4 years old.

Due to the handmade nature of these items, each one will be unique and not exactly as pictured.

Materials: Walnut, Cherry, Walnut Oil, Olive Oil, Glue and Sassafras.

Size:  9" x 12"

Made in:  Tilly, AR

Lead time: 3-5 days. Leon Hoffman hand carves his work from wood that is sustainably harvested from local land. This process can take a little extra time, but it's worth the wait for these craftsman pieces.

Grandchildren Love It

(I think my husband and I met Mr. Hoffman at the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Festival a couple of years ago. I was buying fruit and nut trees and I recall we stopped awhile at their booth, then went back to the tree sellers and returned with a couple of trees for Mrs. Hoffman before they were all sold. If my memory is correct, then Hello, Hoffmans!). We bought the marble maze, thinking the grandchildren (4 and 6) would like it. We were wrong: they LOVED it! They were fascinated with all the different shapes that could be made (PRO TIP: take a picture of the instructions and email it to yourself so that you can re-print it if you lose it, and also tape them to the base of the maze for easy access). The grandchildren’s love of this game led us to conversations about things we enjoyed as a kid, which I how I ended up on the floor teaching them how to shoot marbles.

Thank you so much Nonnie for your review of the Handmade Marble Maze - Kids Toy. You may have in fact met Leon at the seed festival and we will pass on your greeting. We love these toys and hearing that your grandchildren 'LOVED it' too. 4 and 6 are wonderful ages. That's a great tip about the instructions! Thanks too for supporting local Artisans and small businesses. It makes a big difference.
