Varnish completely comes off in dishwasher. No notice of this on website. :(
Hi Jason. Thanks for your feedback. Wooden utensils do need some special treatment to keep them at their best. Avoiding the dishwasher is a must, along with the regular application of mineral oil (or our 'spoon butta') to maintain the finish. I have included a link to our blog post below, which is referenced in the product description, on how to care for your items. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks for supporting local artisans and small businesses!

First of all love the design. When t cooked recently i tapped the spoon on side of pan to dislodged food from it. I saw that the wood had dented and splintered. Quality of wood needs to be better.
Hi Kathryn. Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry about the problem with your item. We are happy to take it back on return for a full refund or to send you a replacement if you prefer. We have included a link to our return information below. Your spoon is made of cherry hardwood which is generally very durable and should last for generations if properly cared for. But wooden utensils do take some bumps along the way which is a normal part of using and owning them. Thanks for your support of LocalWe and small business. We really appreciate it. https://localwe.com/pages/returns
