Wood Coffee/Tea Scoop

This Handmade Wood Coffee/Tea Scoop is made in the U.S.A. It's a quality wooden utensil that's hand carved by Artisan woodworkers in Leslie, Arkansas from sustainably harvested local wood. It's a functional piece of art that can be passed down for generations.

Uses: Wonderful for measuring out just the right amount for your drip machine, espresso pot, French press or whatever contraption you use. It's great for scooping loose tea too. We love this little scoop!

Makes a lovely gift for your favorite chef and a charming piece of kitchen decor.

Summary:

  • Hand carved by Artisan woodworkers in Leslie, Arkansas.
  • Quality craftsmanship.
  • A functional piece of art.
  • Made from sustainably harvested local wood.

The Maker's Process:

Artisan woodworkers make these lovely wooden utensils just like back in the good old days by following these steps:

  1. The perfect block of wood is selected.
  2. A custom template is laid on the wood and the shape is drawn out.
  3. The block is carefully guided through a band saw to make the basic shape.
  4. Rough sanding gets the piece closer to the end shape.
  5. When making a spoon, the bowl is gouged out to the desired depth.
  6. The piece is sanded again, by hand, using increasingly finer sandpaper until the desired smoothness has been reached.
  7. Next is everyone's favorite step - the piece is rubbed with the maker's own blend of edible cooking oils and a little beeswax.
  8. All that's left is to step back and admire the piece as a sustainably produced piece of functional art.

Hand wash only please. Oil occasionally to keep your wooden utensils looking their best.

Due to the nature of each item being individually handmade, some variations may occur in shape, wood color and grain from the items pictured. Each one is unique and beautiful.

Size: Length 5", Bowl Width 2 1/4", Bowl Length 1 3/4". Sizes are approximate.

Made in: Leslie, AR

Lead time: 7 - 10 days. The Archote Family hand carves their work to order especially for you. The wood supply may also be limited. This process can take a little extra time, but it's worth the wait for these Artisan pieces.

Great little multi purpose scoop

This is a very solid, very well made little scoop. I use it for coffee, powdered creamer, and numerous other dry ingredients in the kitchen. I would definitely purchase it again. It would not hurt any cook to have several of these around.

Thanks Cindy for your review of the Handmade Wood Coffee/Tea Scoop. We're glad you like it and that you are getting a lot of use out of it. Enjoy! And thanks for supporting local artisans and small businesses.

Not as Expected

I was delighted to get this coffee/tea scoop till I used it the first time. By the second use the finish was wearing off exposing the raw wood. Will use foe decoration

Hi Barbara. Sorry that the scoop didn't meet your expectations. Since these items will be used with food, they are only treated with a natural blend of mineral oil and beeswax. They do need some special treatment to keep them at their best, like an occasional oiling or waxing. Keeping them out of the dishwasher is also really important. I have included a link to our blog post on how to care for your scoop. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks for supporting local artisans and small businesses!
